Well folks, unfortunately it looks like this forum and web site will be history soon.  This is the first post on the forums since 2014.  This makes me sad especially considering how much there has been to discuss lately with the Quinlan coaches getting arrested for child molestation, and the lake near record levels.

I'm trying to put together a list of all the neighborhoods in West Tawakoni that have Home Owners Associations, and if possible I'm also trying to get the contact info for either the HOA Presidents or Secretaries. At least once a year we are hoping to bring the neighborhood leaders together for various meetings and events. So if anybody can provide me with their neighborhood HOA info then I would appreciate it.

This past Saturday March 2nd, the Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail hit the waters of Lake Tawakoni at West Tawakoni, Texas. In the event over 75 top anglers from 7 different states were competing not only for cash and prizes, but the opportunity to qualify for the 2013 Cabela’s King Kat Classic.

New King Kat records were set at Lake Tawakoni beginning with this being the highest weight brought to the scales since Cabela's King Kat lowered the amount of fish too weigh in to a 5 fish limit. In all 3 teams brought in a 5 fish limit exceeding 200 pounds including the winners of the event with 239.8 pounds. This broke the record set by Dale Kerns and his son at Henderson, Kentucky in 2011 when they weighed in 212 pound with a 5 fish limit. Now that's a load of catfish, I don't care what body of water your on.

Hello everybody,
I recently purchased a bit of land with leaseback property included. I am about to start building a house but I had some questions regarding the ability to work with the SRA.

If i want to build my house closer to the water, is there any possibility of any of the following happening that would allow me to do that?
  • Getting the SRA to come out and redo the property lines, if i agree to purchase the land that is reorganized outside the take line? (the highest land on the propery is right next to the lake and clearly not in any danger of flooding
buying the leasedback property from the SRA
Getting a permit, or working out anything that would allow me to build my home on SRA land
Building a raised home on SRA land that would put it above the take line
    • Buying the leaseback land from the SRA

Anyother loophole or anything i could workout with the SRA that would allow me to build my home closer to the water.

Has anyone heard any stories about things that have been worked out with the SRA to allow similar things. I cant imagine it hasnt been tried before, I have alot of land but the take lines will prevent me form building a house anywhere near the lake which is very frustrating.
