How much rain have you got?

Might they lift the burn ban?

As of yesterday afternoon before dark (Friday) we have gotten close to 4 inches.
Had more rain last night , but I haven`t checked the gauge yet.
Should be more than enough to get the ban off.
Lake is on the rise. Life is good.
I can smell those blues and channels feeding from here.  Cheesy

I see on the SRA site the lake is only up about .75 feet.  Is this accurate?  I would have thought with nearly 4" of rainfall, the lake would be up more.  I guess it depends on the runoff and the creeks that run into the lake.  Still hard to figure why Lake Fork and Ray Hubbard have water and Tawakoni is 5 feet low??? Are they pulling more water from Tawakoni than these other lakes?

I think maybe Ray Hubbard is saved
as a last resort. Tawakoni is the first
in line, then they'll pull some from Fork.
Runoff for the next couple of days
should (will) bring the lake up some
more. Gonna need several more rains
like this past one to get it full tho.
Over 5 inches here in my gauge.
Tom

and...
regarding the ban
I hope they don't try to extend it
cos it's too muddy for the fire trucks
like they did last year!

Folks you can forget about the comparison to Hubbard.
Do you have any idea how discouraging it is to hit a sand bar and spill a
perfectly good martini?

Hehe. Didn`t happen to me. I never got the hang of the "pinky extended" drinks.
I was just using that as a tongue in cheek example of why Hubbard will only be allowed to get to a certain level.
Buffy and Biff might want to throw some shrimp on the Barbie. Can`t have low water for such activities.  Grin

Oh, I get it.....We spent alot of years boating on Hubbard and seen a bunch of Buffy & Biff's out there.....And that lake has changed alot in the past 5 years with all of the development going around it..It is just a matter of time before the Buffy & Biff's of the world show up out here..But untill they do.."Here' Hold my beer and watch this" I like that..Yesterday I was off work yesterday and went into a few establisments in East & West Tawakoni..You sure can tell by looking at some people that they was a hard and long time crank users...I don't read any of the papers out here and I don't venture off into any of the bars around here. We pretty much keep to ourselfs and the hours that we work. we don't get home till late....They busten alot of drug labs around here? Any of the town around the lake have an O-line paper?

Back to burning the leaves..I spend more time racking and burning leave, then I every did cutting that grass before we moved out here
.Where is the Rains county burn ban sign at?

It was on the Emory newspaper's website
rainscountyleader.com
and today I see in the Quinlan paper
that HUNT is cleared to burn also.

Where did you see it in the Quinlan paper?  We searched cause we assumed it might be, but all we saw was Rains County on the front page - left side.  Please let me know where you saw it - thanks!

Sho nuff it does say Rains.
Sorry I didn't notice that before.
Put some pressure on your city
and or county leaders if they don't
act right....more rain coming in the next few days.
