Local Fishing Tournaments

Email us information about local tournaments.

USA Trails / Bud Light Trails Lake Tawakoni Tournaments

Tournament dates are Feburary 6th, March 6th and April 3rd. The early entry fee is $150 (must be postmarked by Monday before the event), and the late entry fee is $160. There is an annual membership fee of $30. There is a $10 Big Bass side pot. Early entries will be posted on the BLT website. Once a team's entry has been received/confirmed, they do not need to show up at the registration location until the weigh-in (their posting on the website counts as their check in).

We will post a "Start Fishing Time," "Stop Fishing Time," and "Weigh In Cut-off Time" on our website one week prior the the tournament date (we use cell-phone network time). We allow trailering at all of our events, so the anglers can choose where they want to launch, go to their spots the morning of the tournament, and start fishing at the designated "Start Time," and stop fishing by the "Stop Time." They then have until the "Weigh in Cut-off Time" (usually one hour later) to be in the weigh in line (which is West Tawakoni City Park for the tournaments at Lake Tawakoni).

The Dallas Spring Team division is comprised of three tournaments at Lake Tawakoni, and three tournaments at Cedar Creek.

Dallas Division
Lake: Lake Tawakoni (entry forms can be downloaded from the BLT website, or picked up at Max a Mart or Sartin Marine)
Dates: Feb 6, Mar 6, Apr 3
Weigh-in: West Tawakoni City Park

Lake: Cedar Creek
Dates: May 1, Jun 5, Jul 10
Weigh-in: Log Cabin Ramp

We have six Spring Team divisions and an two cross-qualifying Team Championships in 2010. We will be giving away two 1st Place Grand Prize Legend Alpha LE-195 boats - one in each championship.

You can qualify for the Team Championship tournaments in one of two ways through either Spring Team or Fall Team divisions:

Spring Team Qualification:
1) Finish in the top 50% of the final YTD weight rankings in one Spring Team division (after all 6 tournaments have concluded) or,
2) Fish at least 5 of the 6 qualifying tournaments in one Spring Team division.
Anyone that qualifies through the Spring Team divisions is eligible to fish in all of the Team Championship tournaments for that year.

Fall Team Qualification:
1) Finish in the top 50% of the final YTD weight rankings in one Fall Team division (after all 5 tournaments have concluded) or,
2) Fish all 5 qualifying tournaments in one Fall Team division.
Anyone that qualifies through the Fall Team divisions is eligible to fish in all of the Team Championship tournaments for the following year.

The rules can be found at the BLT website.

Another Record Fish for Lake Tawakoni??

Shawn Reynolds caught this huge 75.5lb Flathead on April 21st, 2008. This may be a new lake record.
The current record is 62lbs back in 2003. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
