STEPZ Brings Home 3 National Titles

STEPZ All Star Gym traveled to Grapevine, Texas to compete in the Xtreme Spirit National Championship at The Gaylord Texan on December 8th and 9th. This is the 2nd National Championship that SASG had attended. In February 2007, Xploding Stepz Senior Dance team attended and won at the United Cheer National Championship held in Houston. SASG is very excited about all of their teams and the level of talent that they have in their gym. They give a lot of credit to their awesome competition team parents for their hard work and dedication. It keeps the team members going. They understand that these competitions can take a lot of time and effort from the whole family not just the athlete. SASG is proud to say that the Competition Team Parents won the "Parent Participation Award" at the American Cheer Power Competition in Bossier City.
 
SASG took all five competition teams to the Xtreme Spirit Competition. The age of the athletes on these teams range from 4 to 18 at the senior level. SASG has several 1st place titles and a National Title since they opened in 2005. This has been a great beginning for their 2007 competition season. We are very proud to announce that SASG came home with 3 National Championship Titles from the Xtreme Spirit National Championship. SASG National Champion Teams are the Dazzling Dynamite Tiny Jazz Dance Team, ages 3 through  5. Team Members are:  Devin Garretson, Claire Fuller, Savannah Mills and Charles Taylor who did not attend Nationals. Firecrackers Youth Hip Hop Dance Team, ages 7 through 10. Team Members are: Valittie Garretson, Caylynn Murry, Theodora Miller, Jordan Beckham, Deshanna Denton, Anna Williams and Megan Reynolds.  Xploding Stepz Senior Jazz, Hip Hop, Pom Dance Team, ages 12 thru 18. Team Members are: Danyale Roberts, Autumn Fulton, Lauren Brum, Makayla Denton and Kristian Casteel.  Each team member received a trophy and a National Champion Jacket.  SASG also received a trophy for their gym.  Congratulations to all of you for accomplishing such a prestigious award.
 
Also competing at the Xtreme Spirit National Championship was Cheer Xplosion Senior Open Co-Ed Level 2 All Stars, ages 8 through 18 and Flare Mini Level 1 All Stars ages 5 through 8.  Cheer Xplosion competed against other awesome athletes and came home with 2nd place.  Team Members are:  Danyale Roberts, Valittie Garretson, Jessica Pittman, Kristian Casteel, Myranda Boswell, Dylan Roberts, Brandon Townsend, Ellie,  Emily Williams, Anna Williams, Caylynn Murry, Kenni Sue Fluitt, Makayla Denton, Autumn Fulton, Deshanna Denton and Makalea Schkade. Flare Mini Level 1 All Stars competed against several other awesome athletes as well and they came home with 6th place. Team Members are: Jordan Beckham, Allison Hockaday, Annabelle Miller, Theodora Miller, Hailey Hoover, Baleigh Wadsworth, Arin Neely, Caitlin McAdoo and Makayla Shipp.
 
STEPZ All Star Gym is owned by Brandi Norrell originally from Dallas. Brandi is married to Daniel Norrell, originally from Kaufman, and currently employed at the City Of Rockwall.  Together they have 7 children ages 5 months to 14 years. Daniel and Brandi relocated to Wills Point in hopes of finding a nice place to raise their family. They were looking for a place with family values, good schools and great neighbors. Daniel and Brandi are active members of the Wills Point Community. They are proud to call Van Zandt County their home.

Brandi opened SASG in 2005 and due to an outstanding response was able to expand just a year later.  She relocated the gym to Highway 20 at the Turner Hayden exit.  She is expanding again with a new dance studio located next door.  Construction will begin in the new year. 

SASG offers an affordable athletic programs for anyone interested in competitive or recreational cheer and dance. The program is for both boys and girls.  SASG offers ballet, cheer, tumbling (levels 1 through 5 ), pom, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, adult step aerobics and more. Other events include the 3rd Annual New Years Eve Lock In and the 1st Annual Winter Show.

The extraordinary parents and coaching staff offers their time to organize fundraisers to help pay for all uniform, competition and tuition costs.

All Star and Tumbling Coach Jamie Joiner, employed at Citizens National Bank of Wills Point, married to Chris Davis who is employed in the automobile industry in Canton. Dance Instructor Kristian Casteel, a Senior at Wills Point High School. All Star and Tumbling Coach Christin Miller, the owner of 2 HOT CHICS in Canton. Junior Coaches Autumn Fulton and Danyale Roberts, students in Wills Point.
 
SASG is committed to providing Van Zandt and the surrounding counties with a well rounded, affordable, laid back, personable, family oriented  atmosphere for local children to learn to love cheerleading, tumbling and dance.
